Today our theme is the USA, because the Engineer is away there on business. At Disneyworld. Yeah.
So I did some quick research to find out what foods are indigenous to North America, and found corn, turkey, cranberries, maple syrup, green beans (this I did not know), pumpkins and wild rice, among other things.
However, I didn't feel like waiting such a long time for the wild rice to do after going shopping, so we ended up with microwaved potatoes instead. Well they are from the New World, at least!
I told Froglet that this was about America because Daddy is there right now, and how these things used not to be available over here, and then throughout lunch he kept saying "tell us some more about America, Mummy". Which was nice. I told him about the Statue of Liberty being given by the French, and about becoming independent from the UK, and about how much bigger the States are than our country. Tomorrow we will look at his picture atlas to see more about the States.
